Seymour spike 3: the relay
Tests Seymour's relay: the small service that fetches feeds and pages for the app when a site doesn't let the browser fetch them itself. It keeps nothing about you, and it refuses private addresses.
1 Free-plan check
Checks 25 real feeds of all six types the way Seymour will on Cloudflare's free plan: straight from each site when the site allows it, small feeds through the relay in batches sized to stay within the plan's computing limit, and large ones through the relay on their own. It then checks them twice more, ten seconds apart, asking each site only for what changed. Takes about a minute.
| Feed | How | First check | Second | Third |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Not checked yet. | ||||
2 Measure batch costs
Runs four relay requests of known sizes, each in its own minute, so Cloudflare's CPU time chart shows what each one costs. Takes about five minutes; keep this page open until it says it's done.
| Time | Relay request | Result |

3 Try any address
4 Safety
Asks the relay for 18 private or unsafe addresses. Every one must be refused.
5 Limits
Sends 130 requests as fast as possible. Each device may make 120 a minute, so some should be turned away. (Cloudflare counts per location, so the cut-off is approximate.)
